No Pedicure? No Problem. I Found a Solution for Quarantine Feet.

No Pedicure? No Problem. I Found a Solution for Quarantine Feet.

I’m not very limber. Flexibility is not something that comes easy for me. Yes, I practice Yoga. Yes, I stretch.  Still, there is a point after which my muscles will not yield. I’ve been trying to do a split since I was nine years old. I quit ballet as a child because I discovered my fingers were the only parts of my body that could stretch, and so I turned to the piano instead. All this to say that it’s uncomfortable for me to give myself a pedicure.

And, oh yeah, it kind of grosses me out.

But… Corona times. I’ve developed a case of Quarantine Feet. So I’ve had to get over my irrational disgust of toes, get creative, contort my body into strange positions, and give myself a pedicure.

While at Target last week, where I was supposed to be buying groceries but wandered over to the beauty section because I needed comfort, I came across a product I had never seen before.

It was a foot peel.

What? Why had I never seen this?

The answer is obvious. I get regular pedicures and so my feet, pre-Corona, are as smooth as a pre-walking baby’s.

I grabbed three of them just in case the toilet paper hoarders find out about this.

That night, after my shower, as I sat on the sofa in my new Target PJ’s to watch an episode of Ozark, I slipped my poor neglected feet into the booties and waited the required hour.

The next day… nothing.

Same for the day after that and the day after that.

What a scam, I thought.

And then, on the 4th day, the skin on the bottom of my feet began to peel. I don’t mean little flakes either. I mean, the skin came off in sheets.

The instructions say you’re not supposed to peel the skin off yourself, but let it happen naturally.

Not a chance, babe. It was too tempting. I can’t describe it. It was at once gross and highly satisfying. Besides, I’m bored.

Long (very long) story short. I now have very happy, very smooth feet. My heels are so soft, I find myself wanting to touch them again and again. And for someone who thinks feet are disgusting, that says a lot.

I’m sure there are similar products on the market, and I will give them all a try until I can get back on the pedicure chair at my salon. For now, this has been a game-changer.

If your feet are in need of repair, I encourage you to try this. And let me know if you too find it oddly satisfying to peel off the sheets of dead skin.

I hope you and your family are staying healthy.

xoxo

Lol. Have I never told you about foot peels? The ones at a Target are good. My favorite is from Sephora (Boscia Baby Foot) . Same deal. So satisfying.

I will tell you it’s MOST satisfying the first time. After that…well, your feet are in better shape. Shouldn’t need anymore than every four to six months. If you have issue with cracking heels (my problem area) then follow up with Chemistry’s heel repair (like the hand cream but green lettering). 💕

Ha! I just looked again and I think you ARE using Baby Foot! 😘
